To Whom It May Concern:
Roms,
People are downloading roms and emulators left and right. We can already access cross platform games now that the psp, ds, wii, ps3, and xbox360 are compatible to the internet.
Why prolong inevitable? Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo can either be cheated out of their money, or they can join us by licensing an official rom site, and stop loosing millions of dollars because the companies don’t realize that they could be making more money.
Its so easy. All the companies have to do is just sign an agreement with each other. Just launch a Nintendo rom site, a Microsoft rom site, and a Sony rom site, and then all the game companies will at least be making extra money from their subscribers.
I have a solution,
What if the consumer could not enter the official Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo company owned rom site until they actually purchased the console so that when they bought it, they would be given access to unlock its official rom site of that particular console, and share that particular console’s game catalogue with other consoles?
Obviously, this would allow that particular console’s catalogue to only be transferable. The consumer will have to buy a second console in order to actually “play” that unlocked catalogue on a separate console.
Lets say you bought a Playstation and you unlocked the official Playstation catalogue. The agreement will only allow you to transfer Playstation games to other consoles, but it wont allow you to transfer games from other consoles onto the Playstation until you buy and subscribe to the other console’s rom site and unlock their transferability.
Once you buy other consoles, and subscribe to their rom sites, you can then interchange each others catalogues and play which ever games you want on which ever console you want.
And if that doesn’t get you interested, this one will:
What if each console had two different rom sites to subscribe to. If you buy a Nintendo console, this would mean the consumer can choose to unlock your game catalogue transfer to either a Microsoft outlet, or a Sony outlet.
The consumer could choose to subscribe to which ever console outlet they want your catalogue to be transferable for. To unlock the transfer to Microsoft, it will cost “X” amount of dollars to subscribe to this rom site, and to unlock the transfer to Sony, it will cost “A” amount of dallers to subscribe to that rom site.
Tripple “A” titles such as Uncharted, Halo, and Metroid could be on an elite list, and would only be transferable if the consumer not only subscribes, but pays a little extra money to unlock each game on the elite list.
Game companies won’t have to worry about being black-mailed and pirated anymore, and the consumers will be satisfied with their need to play any game on one desired console.
Nobody is getting cheated on, and everybody is happy. The game companies profit from more money, and the gamers get what they have been wanting for decades.
