How to convince stubborn father to sign for a car
Okay. This is a strange situation. It's not me buying the car, or my father. It's my boyfriend who is buying a Jeep, and his father is being an a-hole. So my boyfriend is doing the Cash for Clunkers thing. Great since he bought his truck 5 years ago for $3,000. So either way he's making a profit. So back when he was going to get $3,500 for the program, his dad said that's fine. My bf's 22, they just never transferred the title into my bf's name. So his dad has to "buy" it under his name, to get the credit. My bf's dad said yes. Oh, and he lives an hour and 45 minutes away. So his dad said that's fine. Yesterday my bf and I went to the dealer and found out he could get double, and get $4,500! So he would be $9k off a new car. He called his dad, and his dad now said it was a stupid idea and he refuses to sign for it! Then my bf went online and found more rebates the dealer didn't know about. He may be able to get another $5k off!! So my bf can get a tricked out $25k car for $11k, not counting the $4k he is putting down!!! But his dad said it's a stupid idea and he should just wait until May and get a good used vehicle. He won't even be able to find a truck/jeep for that cheap used and a couple years old! And not to mention buying new comes with warranties!!! There's even a friggin' touch screen in the Jeep!!!!! With a 30GB hard drive!!!! For $11k!!!!!!!!!!! And my bf's dad said that it's a waste of money and that it'd be stupid, he should just buy used. HOW ON EARTH can we convince this STUPID AND ARROGANT idiot father to come up and sign the loan for his son's car?! Please note that his dad is not the nicest dad in the world. It's more like he's a landlord and his son is just a guest sometimes. He currently has a screen name saying that my bf owes him $1.67. And he's a grown man who plays video games all day naming characters with the word "butt" in it, and watching Spongebob, yet he calls me immature because I laugh at his lame jokes to be polite, and I have a GPS. So it's not as easy as it sounds. My bf makes more money than his father does. Basically his dad's overtime is my bf's regular pay. So it can't be that he is worried about his credit score. Or it could be, but my bf's dad is a certified idiot. So how could we get around that if that is the case? My bf's payments on a 6 year loan would be like $150 or less, with what he's putting down. We need help soon! We need to go pick it up this Saturday morning before it's gone! They only have one of those Jeeps within about 50 miles!!!! And it's one of the few vehicles eligible for the Cash for Clunkers program! Thanks. On Jeep's website they say on 2009 Jeep Patriot's you can get $3,500 plus $1,500 customer cash allowance. So I don't know if that meant the Government program, or not. Because above that it has a chart that shows the price, minus government cash, minus customer cash (which is the doubling of the CARS program). So I don't know if the $5k is Cash for Clunkers, or an extra thing. But even if he can't get it. $9k for a truck he paid $3k for 5 years ago?! How can you pass up that offer if he's planning on buying a car this year, anyways!! My bf has a good credit score. But there is a restriction on the Cash for Clunkers program. You have to have the car/truck registered under your name for at least 1 full year. Therefore if we transfer the title now, my bf would forfeit the $9k and only get the $5k off. All of these answers are from idiotic men. My bf can get a brand new Jeep under warranty for $11k. My bf has $7 in the bank and a job that he makes almost $1k a paycheck after taxes. So my bf can pay it off in less than 2 years, if he wants to. If you met this man, you would understand he is NOT doing the right thing. How is $11k for a BRAND NEW JEEP too expensive? How is it better to get a $4k tiny car that can last MAYBE 2 years, and you have to puyt $3k each year into it for repairs. Whereas Jeep's last forever. They're great cars. And my bf needs 4 wheel drive because of our location (weather and terrain) and since he's in the construction field. All of the guys answering is just as stupid as his father. This "man" is a guy who drinks til he's drunk every night. He throws stadium sized fireworks into a bonfire. He throws cats against corners of game cubes when they do nothing wrong. He kept my bf's $3,500 tax return last year when he pays 0% of my bf's college or life. Grania- just because ur a worthless bum and live at home with no job past ur thirties doesn't mean everyone is. I LOVE playing games like this type.. it's called sushi go round http://www.miniclip.com/games/sushi-go-round/en/ but I love playing games like that where you have to do things in a certain amount of time. There was a spongebob game where you had to make krabby patties before his shifts were up, and the orders got increasing difficult (although it was very easy) Anyway, does anyone know any other games that are very similar to these? I want to purchase a computer for my 4year old
My daughter is 4 years old, and LOOOOVES to play her games on the computer. She is really good at using it for her ABC, counting, shapes and stuff like that. BUT, I find myself arguing with her so that I can get some work done, lol. I am considering getting her her very own first computer. I am looking for a cheap laptop, that can support internet & about 5 different games. Nothing major, just Dora, SpongeBob, and a couple other Preschool games. It has to have WiFi so it can connect to the home router for her nickjr.com, pbs.com etc....Anyway...what kind of laptop would be best for this? I see them online for $279, but can it handle these games without being a sloooooooooow computer. She is very active, and has ZERO patience for waiting on her game to load, lol. Anyway, any suggestions? What is the best place to purchase? And how much memory and stuff should it have?? Gavin - I completely agree that desktops are way easier & cheaper. BUT, she likes to be around people when she plays. So when we are in the living room, or while I am cooking dinner, she likes to sit at the counter and play and talk about it. So it would be a little pain to move a desktop everywhere she wants to go :) Thank you for the great laptop advice though! :)

I had a computer and was in computer classes at a very young age. Computers are the future. Why not teach her young?
