What can i do for my sixteenth party Boy
Im turning sixteenth in a couple weeks, and i want to do something that both me and my friends will remember. I like stuff like paint-balling etc. but my best friend is having a paint ballingg party a week before my party so i don't think that's a good idea, plus I have done it before. I've read up about these 'Mall scavenger huts' on the internet and they seem pretty fun although i need a list of things to collect and I'm not sure where to get that from. If you have any resources from past 'Mall scavenger parties' could you please share or send a link. Another idea i was thinking about was going in a limo to a restaurant or cinema or some place like that. But I need a rough idea of how much that will cost. I also like the ideas of camping and video games tournament but if i do a video games tournament we would be stuck in my house which is something i don't want to do. I was also thinking about a sleepover but i've heard they don't go well if you have a mix gender party. Feel free to put in any ideas of our own for parties which you may have experienced yourself or organised for a child. I'm in the UK and the party has to be suitable for 6-8 people. Are kids ruder nowadays What to do about rude behavior in kids
I was recently at a 4 year old birthday party for a young relative. It was a small party, with some relatives (Grandma & Grandpa), and some friends of the hostess and their younger children. Most kids were in the 3-5 year old range. I could not believe how rude and entitled these kids acted. I would have chalked it up to "a rotten apple" if it were 1 or 2 kids, but it seemed like nearly all these kids were exhibiting naughty and demanding behavior. For example: one little boy walked up to my husband and said, "Push me on the swing." Not "please". Not "would you". Push me. Needless to say, my husband did not push the kid on the swing. He ignored him. The boy didn't get the hint and demanded again, "Push me" when he got to the swing. All the kids I saw seemed to just help themselves off the table where soda, finger foods, chips, etc. were set up, as opposed to asking their parents or the hostess (or at least an adult) for help. The pinata game turned into a whiny mess and the present opening was a free for all. I just don't remember parties being like this when I was younger. Is it my imagination or are kids just plain ruder? In the future, should I just ignore this or should I say something? I'm in my 30s with no kids, so maybe I'm just uptight? It just seemed like the kids ran the party!

Child support help please
I need help! I have hit brick walls at every turn and I don’t know what else to do… Here is my story: I was recently told by my ex that he is going to take me back to court to reduce his child/alimony payments and has re-hired his divorce lawyer, (a really dirty ‘dads’ right lawyer), because he cannot afford to pay what he is paying. He wants to go back to court because, (1) he was laid off (in December 2008), not true, he left his job of 17 years willingly! (2) He is purposely not finding a job in which he qualifies for until our son is of age and the support will stop, just for spite. (Yes, he really things like this). He is now currently (back) on UIB. My situation is fairly common, (I presume), and my ex has a horrible outlook towards me, because he see’s his payments as a ‘free’ ride for me. His payment is no way a ‘free’ ride, even after receiving it, it is not enough. He does not realize this payment helps me feed, cloth and help keep our son in our home. (I have paid him his half, the very day of our divorce). He barely see’s our son and only contacts him from time to time with a few minute phone call and in his mind, he is ‘father of the year.’ And if he does take time to come and see him or wants to do something with him, it is worked with his schedule, for example taking him to a friends house as he watches a sporting event, etc., and not spending quality time. I have talked with him and even written him letters explaining the effects of his absence on our son…in turn he'll spend a little bit of time with him and then it goes back to the same old situation…no contact. I too, am unemployed (as of April of this year), and barely surviving and there is no way I can afford to re-hire another attorney to help me in this matter. I have yet to receive any form of legal paperwork regarding this, but I wanted to be ahead of the game and have called agencies around my area, (San Bernardino County, I live in the Inland Empire), legal aid, (low income) etc to find someone who can help me or even advise me on this issue and I was told repeatedly, that they have no legal aid regarding child support and they were sorry. Even the 'low' cost attorney's I cannot afford at this time. I need good representation, as my divorce lawyer was a joke and a complete waste of $3500! I have physical custody and we both share legal custody. When/if we go back to court, at this hearing, can I request to be granted sole custody, due to his lack of contact with our son? (He will soon be 15) I am very congenial with him and have been very amicable in all regards, even when he has smiled in my face while stabbing me in the back! He really is nasty to me and all I can do is just pray for him and strength for me. There is so much more to my story, but I do not want to continue on as this has been drawn out enough. I need help…I am a good person and I do what is right and have followed all the ‘rules,’ and yet, I’m the one to get the short end every time. I just want what is right and nothing more for all parties involved. Thank you for your time! Addition to the above... to answer questions about him not having money... He is living off of his 401k as well as UIB, so he is in no way hurting for money. Child support has hit him with a lien a few months ago to get payments in arrears. Also, he has an ESOP plan in which we are to split. I have found out information that he is trying to put this into his IRA without me knowing. I have been waiting 2 years to get him to pay for 1/2 to get the QDRO done. A friend of mine, paid for me to hire a QDRO lawyer, (a few days ago,thank God), and I hope to have caught it before he has had a chance to withdrawal the money from the company he worked for to have it put into his IRA. Regarding him leaving his work, he told me himself, in front of my friend, is this proof enough? Thank you for your comments and information. Yes, I do understand my gains and my ex's loss, regarding our son. In no way shape or form, have I not lost focus on that. I know I am the lucky one and I am enjoying watching my son grow up to be a wonderful young man and in no way, does my situation with my ex have any negative feelings toward my son. He is and always will be my number one focus. For he is my little piece of heaven. For P.I.T.A. - You seem to have issues regarding someone or something and I am not a part of your madness... I just wanted some advice from anyone that was knowledgeable in this matter, period! I'm not here to 'bash' anyone. He's already done that enough! Here is a brief explanation of what I do know is factual! He quit, but since he was in management they worked out a deal, (surely they would not admit that on record, but who would right?). The bottom line is, they wanted him out and this was a hell of a lot cheaper route and a win, win situation for them, so in turn, they made it possible for him to walk and to receive the UIB.

What was the father doing wrong and what would you have done if you were in his shoes
I was a witness to both of these events. A shy 13 year old girl was having a birthday party at her home. When the other children arrived, she stayed in the living room with them for a short while. She then said, "good-night", and retreated to her room, intending to stay there for the rest of the party. Her father stood outside of her door for half an hour trying to coax her out but she locked the door to her room. Seeing how stubborn she was, her father proceeded to shout and bang loudly on her door, telling her that what she is doing is embarrassing to him, that her behavior is not what a 13 year old should have, that she is a weakling who will amount to nothing, and that if she doesn't unlock the door immediately, he will kick it down. The child started to cry but shouted back across the door that she will not open it. They made such a loud commotion upstairs, the parents and kids downstairs heard it. The party ended on a low note. A similar scenario occurred two weeks later. The father was seen chasing the girl down around their apartment complex with a shoe in his right hand and shouting profanities at the same time. The girl was running in front and crying, darting left and right to avoid his father catching up to her and beating her with the shoe. The mother could do nothing to stop the father so she watched helplessly. What was the reason for this chase? The neighbors were holding a gathering for kids with free cakes and games on a nearby lawn, and because their apartment complexes were rented out as university dormitories exclusively for graduate students who had kids, the entire neighborhood was teeming and buzzing with children and festivity. However the girl did not want to attend, she was seen gingerly approaching the lawn where the event was taking place with a distressed look on her face, before she got close, she turned around and began to head home. The father came up from behind and blocked her, gave her a shove forward, but she refused to advance further. They started arguing, the father grabbed her roughly and tried to pick her up but she struggled out of his hold, the father cursed loudly. After several unsuccessful attempt at snatching the child, he reached down and took off one of his shoe. The child started to run, the father took off after her, leading to the aforementioned chase scene. My question is, what was the father doing wrong, and what would you have done if you were in his shoes? The girl had also sustained purple bruises on her arms and torso where her father had attempted to grab her. Additionally there were marks that showed her father had tried to sink his nails into her around her biceps where he had taken hold of her. I do not believe the father was being intentionally abusive. However I am concerned for the girl, who seems to exhibit many classical signs of Asperger Syndrome. They both need help, in my opinion.
