would i be able to get the free upgrade to windows 7 with either of these 2 laptops
Hey, my old laptop fried back in april so i'm finally doing research on another one. Since Vista sucks, i wanted to double check on whether or not i would be able to get the free upgrade to windows 7 with it. There are mainly 3 laptops that i am looking into. I would be using the laptop for gaming, and i would also need to be able to do stuff for school such as typing papers or making powerpoints and stuff, but i have the microsoft student.
Here is the link to the Toshiba: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114653
The HP: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834147995
And here are the specs for the Dell.
SYSTEM COLORObsidian Black High Gloss Finish
PROCESSORIntel® Core™ 2 Duo P8600 (3MB cache/2.4GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEMGenuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-bit
OFFICE SOFTWAREMicrosoft® Works 9
WARRANTY AND SERVICE3 yr In-home Service after remote diagnosis + Complete Care
HD DISPLAYEdge-to-Edge FHD Widescreen 15.6 inch WLED LCD (1920x1080) W/2.0 MP
MEMORY4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms)
HARD DRIVE500GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
INTERNAL OPTICAL DRIVE8X DVD+/- RW(DVD/CD read/write) Slot Load Drive
VIDEO CARDATI Mobility RADEON™ HD 4670 – 1GB
WIRELESS CARDSIntel® 5100 WLAN Wireless-N (1x2) Half Mini Card
SOUND OPTIONSHigh Definition Audio 2.0
BLUETOOTHDell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module (2.1+EDR)
Now, with those specs AND THE WARRANTY, the Dell is $1,303. The laptops i sent from www.newegg.com do not include the warranty price, so add $270 to the main price. I think that the price limit is 1200-1300 but i am not entirely sure. Personally, I lean towards the Dell but the Toshiba and HP have me a little bit curious.
Question 1 - Would I be able to get the free upgrade to windows 7 if i bought the HP or Toshiba from newegg?
Question 2 - What laptop should i try and get the most?
Question 3 - What laptop should i NOT get?
BY THE WAY
I know for a fact that the Dell would come with the free upgrade since I would buy it directly from the website.
from what i read on this website, the HP would not qualify for the free upgrade to windows 7 since it is not on the list. This pretty much means it is between the dell and the toshiba.
http://www.hp.com/united-states/consumer/windows7-upgrade/eligmodels.html
i know for a fact that the dell qualifies, was told that the toshiba does, and saw that the HP doesn't

Ok so basically I would like to know which one of these two would be better for things like gaming and overall just better. Please specify which processor is best and why.
As for the DVD drive the Blue-ray is obviously better.
I am not asking on your opinions on the company, so I would appreciate it if you keep your comments about that to yourself.

How much should I charge for a fundraiser game tournament
I would like to hold a SSBB Tournament as a fundraiser to help start an arcade. I've been looking at a number of competitions and most of them seem to top off at around $10 per person. However, their prizes are usually around $100 for 1st place, $75 for 2nd and $50 for third, approximately.
I would like to give away a DSi, DS Game and $150 for first place, a Wii game and $100 for second place and a Wii game with $75 for third place. I would also like to serve pizza and soft drinks, the cost of which would be included in the entry fee.
I was thinking $25/person for competing and $5/person for spectators (Spectators would also get pizza, btw). I plan on having 64 slots available.
Does that reflect on the prizes/food fairly, or would people still be scared off by the entry fee regardless of the prizes and free food?
