children relay games
Active games for large groups of small children
Alright, I am working at VBS(Vacation Bible School) And I am working in the section where we are in the gym to play active games.
We have several groups a day, the ages varying from pre-school to rising sixth graders.
We don't really have anything specific to play, so we come up with games that they'd enjoy.
Today, we've played "Red Light, Green Light", "Duck, Duck, Goose", "Hot Potato", "Simon Says", and "Tag"(Tag turns out too chaotic for all of them.) We've done relay races and played basketball(With the older kids).
But we have them five days in a row, and we can't do the same thing every day.
So please state the game ideas you have, and the age group they are good for.
Thank you!
Twenty 4 year olds can't play dodge ball.
And how are we supposed to use water balloons, inside fifteen times a day at VBS?
Please have your suggestions be USEFUL.

Gymnastic warm up games
I have a group of gymnasts, they are a development squad ( very good 5-7 but they're doing backward roll pike ( floor )and 3/4 giants on bars!) and they warm up with an elite squad (11-16) and I need some warming up games. My collegue, head coach and I are sick to death of boring games and want to do different games- any ideas! Ideally they are constantly moving so no relay races thanks
BTW we've done the following:
Toad and Frog
Horse and jockey
Traffic lights
Bean game
Tag with stick( from pit tap child then they do conditioning)
Chain tag

Young and Restless Spoiler
Summoned out to the tackhouse, it seems Sharon's under the impression Nick wants to spend time with her - and disappointed when he wants to talk about 'oh, yeah, right, Noah' (as she flashes back to their first anniversary). So, how is he? Nick reports he's calmed down a bit - it was kinda crazy the other day but we have a new game plan now. Any regrets? Sharon asks. None, Nick says.
Ash gets a call from Colleen and relays she's meeting Brad's lawyers with regards to the will. Abby wants to go - it's what my Dad would have wanted. Colleen also calls Jack (who agrees to join her). I'm on my way. Leaving so soon? Billy slurs. Jack reminds how it was when their Dad died - so much left unsaid. He's not giving up on Billy though. The right thing to do is 'man up' and tell Cane you're the baby's father - if you didn't care you wouldn't be here getting wasted - let's get out of here. Billy sends him off - me and this barstool are joined at the butt. You can be a real jerk sometimes, Jack says as he takes Billy's car keys and asks Jimmy to call him a cab when he's done drinking. Be the decent guy I know you are, are Jack's parting words.
Lily puts a blanket around Ester's shoulders as she holds vigil at Chloe's bedside. Jill reports the doctor said Chloe's doing what she's supposed to be - resting - and the baby's doing well. She then praises them for getting Chloe and the baby to the hospital - and Billy too of course - she wanted them to be close as brothers - this could be the turning point. Cane nods - unconvinced, while Lily looks constipated.
Someone call a cab? Yup Billy dons his coat - and off to the hospital he staggers.
At the tackhouse, Noah isn't exactly pleased to see Sharon - but IS happy to hear they've changed their minds on him seeing Eden. You'll get more freedom - but no more sneaking around - be honest. We've all made mistakes - this is a fresh start. Sharon wants to know where he's going and with whom. And if, on occasion, they say 'no', he has to respect that - and his curfew. Here's his chance to prove he's not a kid - and if he blows it, they'll reconsider public school. After hugs, Phyllis returns - and gets a hug too when Nick explains it was her idea. Sharon leaves - I have dinner plans tonight, she boasts - to which Noah looks kinda puzzled. Don't let us hold you up, Nick doesn't seem to care. All but ignored, Sharon then swipes a round knick knack bauble off the table and sneaks out.
Victor calls Nick to remind him of a board meeting - he has a plan in mind for Brad's seat - but no answer just yet. I'll let you know.
At Jabot, Colleen's just met with the Fresh Face marketing people - it was her idea to meet with the lawyer this evening - at Jabot. You came! she's pleased to see Abby - and thanks Ashley for bringing her. As the girls go off to get some water for Abby's cotton mouth, Ash and Jack bicker about Victor - until the lawyer arrives to say some kind words about Brad the hero. Once everyone's seated it's time to read the last will and testament of Brad Carlton.
As Ester fusses over Chloe's bed-head, Cane assures she forgave her for sending her off to boarding school - what if this past year is all I have? Ester whimpers - you think she can hear me? She then tearfully rambles on about Chloe as a child - I never loved anyone more. Lily looks troubled as Cane stoops beside Ester - now knowing what she means after holding HIS daughter.
Now at Jimmy's, Sharon drinks a shot - Happy Anniversary Nick, she mutters - flashing back to him reciting his wedding vows.
Phyllis snaps Nick back from whatever's distracting him - your son's saying you're a cool Dad, she says with her arms around Noah. I wasn't sucking up - much, Noah jokes. He declines joining them for dinner and a movie - he'll babysit - can Eden come over? Not for long, Nick watches him run up to call her. Breath, Phyllis instructs Nick - you ARE a cool Dad.
Billy asks Lily how Chloe and the baby are. How much have you had to drink? she wonders - please - just go home. No - Billy's there to follow her advice - where's Cane? No - he won't leave - his 'pretty little friend' needs to make up her mind on what she wants (which is to tell Cane the truth). Cane comes in from visiting Cordelia - of course he named the baby - he can't call her little Boog forever. Cane and Billy hold one another's arms - you're not going anywhere near my daughter. You're telling me to back away from YOU'RE daughter? Billy sneers - no freakin' way in hell, he spits - inches from Cane's face. After a nurse tells Billy to quiet down, Jill races out - what's going on? Mr Perfect thinks he's running the show, Billy whines - he's giving me orders. Cane bellows that the mother of his baby's fighting for her life and you're out here acting like a brat - causing a scene! What do you want to say to me? Cane shouts after Billy (who's wrestled out by a burly medic - shouting for Cane to come outside). That sloppy drunk is the guy YOU
Cane finds out the baby is not his and blah blah blah....but here's the shocker.....
Cane wants to divorce Chloe and SUE for custody of Delia! Cane tells Chloe he is the only one suited to raise the baby!
And this is AFTER he finds out the child is not his!

Should I set up as a kids party entertainer
Question for parents really as I wonder how much parents are prepared to pay for kids party. I was wondering whether to set up as a party organiser/entertainer as where we live we only seem to have some very dodgy entertainer (old men in dodgy waistcoats) and I'm never too impressed with them.
I've have run some quite successful parties for my two kids (so I'm told) and wondered what parents thought.
My idea is to pinpoint a few locations in my area (ie village halls) and hold the parties at the venue of choice. I could tailor party to the child's needs and take the stress out of organising.
My daughter wanted a puppy party and this was a great success. I made gingerbread dog bones that the kids decorated with icing/dog bone sprinkles (we had a competition at the end as best decorated ....) They took these home with them.
I bought a dog face paint stamp that you stamp on the kids faces and colour in. I also bought wobbly eyes and stuck them on with body glue (perfectly safe). No skill required.
I ran various puppy themed relay races, pass the puppy (using puppy rucksac fill with goodies), musical pawprints (using large paw prints) stickers) etc etc.
I bought cupcakes and got photos of dogs from the internet and got them printed onto sugar paper and placed onto cakes. Food served in dog bowls etc..... you get the idea???
How much would a parent pay, per child for this kind of party (food, balloons, hall hire, biscuit/decorations provided, pass the parcel and prizes provided).
My overheads would be quite high so wondered if there was a market. Live in a relatively affluent area (SW).
Kids Disco hire only in the area is around £150 for two hours as a comparison.
I am quite creative and could come up with a selection of themes for kids to chose from and tailor food, games and prizes to suit. (ie princess/pirate/animal etc etc. Could do healty snacks/food and bake own cakes etc.
Pls let me know what parents think and whether I'm the only person who thinks some child entertainers leave a lot to be desired (and expensive)!!
Thoughts appreciated.
ps. Forgot to mention, already work part-time so this would for a little extra income once my youngest goes to school next year.
Thanks xx

Can someone help me analyze this dream
I had a dream the other night that has been constantly nagging at my mind. You see, It's the =first I've ever had that was like it, and I sort of feel weird when I reflect on it because it is so very different than the dreams I normally have. There is a lot to recall, so I'll try to sum up everything but the parts that stood out.
It started out with my family and myself sitting in the living room of my grandparents house. we were talking when my phone began to ring. I pulled it out and answered it. It was a friend of mine from real life, he was in a panic and claimed that Shanoa was going into labor and she was calling for me, pleading that I be there. Now before I go on, I will clear up that Shanoa is in fact, pretty much a doppelganger from the Shanoa in Castlevania. Why she was in my dream is beyond me, as I hadn't played the game in a very long time, and I'm pretty sure that she was just used as a sort of default character to take the place of the person in this story. Also, before continuing I should make it clear that in the dream it seemed as if I barely knew her, and hardly cared at all, as when my friend finished, I told him that exactly. After telling him this I immediately asked if he had called the ambulance. This drew the attention of my family, as they all stopped talking and looked at me. My friend replied that he had not, as her main concern was that I was there. This was frustrating to me so I snapped that he hang up immediately and call the ambulance. I hung the phone up after this statement and after a few moments of awkward silence I looked at my parents and explained the situation. My step-father stood up, grabbed his keys and beckoned me to follow. The dream skipped at this point and the next thing I remember was pulling into the driveway of a house I'd never seen before. Lights were flashing and as I walked towards the
emergency vehicle Shanoa was being escorted by a paramedic towards it as well, and the second she saw me and was close enough she grasped my hand and tugged me along thanking me for being there. When we got to the truck she got in and tried to pull me with her but I pulled my hand away and came up with an excuse along the lines of "I don't think I'm allowed to go in there with you" She seemed very upset at this thought and begged me to get on board, and a nearby medic said that since I had her consent I was free to ride to the hospital in the back of the truck as well. I remember feeling angry because I knew for a fact this entire situation meant nothing for me, I was not the father, I did not really know Shanoa and the entire thing was becoming a burden. I got on and she grabbed my hand again, I remember seeing the doors close and the dream skipped to the DR, I was standing behind her to her right, appalled at the very thought of birth and though still holding her hand I was trying to avoid any sight of the birth. I remember standing there the entire time until the doctor held the infant in his hands and showed it to Shanoa, she looked back at me over her shoulder and smiled, but her face contorted quickly and the doctor/nurses panicked. I was pulled from her hand and removed from the room, and the dream skipped. I was in the hall of a hospital, the doctor was explaining that Shanoa had gone into Cardiac arrest and that it had led to further complications. She had died moments before he relayed this information. The dream skipped again, and I was in a long comfortable looking basement. It had a large chair and a pool table, and the lights were a warm dim color. I heard a door open and a friend walked in, nameless and faceless but I know he was a friend. I remember him asking me why I had agreed to take the child, and then my view went down to my arms where I was holding a sleeping baby girl. When my gaze went back up the the shadowed face I woke up...
The entire dream really bugs me, I've never been able to remember one so clearly, and the story it told was very different than anything else I've dreamed of. Can anyone explain to me what any of it means? I thought that if anyone could help make sense of it this would be a good place to go due to all the contrasting opinions. If you need further details just ask, this question will definitely be monitored whenever I have the chance.
I am 18 and single, if it is relevant.
Thank you for the answer "gwen r" but I'd still like to see more than one so I'm extending the expiration.
