math games calculating volume
How can I calculate the amount of times I can fill a Pneumatic Cylinder from one Tank
I have an air tank that has a approx. volume of 226 cubic inches and is pressurized to 100psi and I need to figure out how many times I can simultaneously fill 6 cylinders before my tank will be empty. Each cylinder has a volume of 14 cubic inches and must be pressurized to 25psi.
Basically I work at a theatre and we have casters mounted on cylinders that we use to lift our scenery and move it on and off stage, and I need figure how many "lifts" I can get out of a piece of scenery with a given number of casters and/or air tanks. We've been using these "air casters" for a long time but figuring out how long we can go in between fills has always been a guessing game, and we would like to start trying to plan better.
I would like to create a spreadsheet formula to help me figure this out but the math seems a little over my head (but then again maybe I'm just looking at the problem wrong). Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
