wii games online
Do you think its smart to buy a Wii just so I can hack it
Hey, I was interested in getting a next gen console. I would get a Ps3 but they are too expensive right now and CAN NOT be modded. So when a new game comes out that's like $60 out my pocket.
I would get a 360 because it CAN BE MODDED but the way my internet is set up I would have to buy the wifi adapter for it which is $100, plus paying about $20 to get it modded and then another 60 for 1 year of online. Depending on wich xbox model I got it would reach up to $480+ ( though I do have 2 360 games already)
Now If I got a wii, it has built in wifi, and free online which is a big plus for me. The type of hack that im looking for is to just play backed up/burnt games that's it. Not anything super fancy. Do you think it's worth it? I'm 14 years old and the only down side I could see is, if the games suck.. Are they good? I like shooters, plat-formers , action, adventure, some fighting games. I heard Mario Kart Wii is also cool.

Frequent random disconnections ADSL
Keep in mind, folks, guessers and BSers need not answer. I'm looking for an answerer who is knowledgeable and can actually help me, rather than someone who answers with something akin to "restat u modam ok!"
So now that I've made that clear, here's a little background information:
I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, and I've had Cavalier Telephone for my home phone and DSL service for almost two years now. Literally, the entire time I've had them as an ISP, I've gotten disconnected pretty much randomly, for anywhere from a half a second to 30 seconds at a time. Pretty insignificant in terms of just browsing the internet. BUT, take into consideration that I do a lot of online gaming (PC/360/Wii) and we have a serious problem.
Anyway, I've contacted Cavalier about a hundred times (literally?) about the issue. The first time, they "changed my settings". The second time, they sent Verizon (they own the phone lines) to my apartment building. The Verizon guy plugged a box into my phone jack, and told me I'm getting 13Mbps down from the wall. Which pretty much makes sense, because after all it's DSL, and the hub (Verizon building) is across the street from my building, about 300-400 feet away.
So that still doesn't matter, because despite my relatively fast speeds, I still get randomly disconnected (they call it an intermittent connection).
So, I just keep paying the bills in full, for years (not hard, for $50/mo I get unlimited local & long distance, all features, and decent DSL service), until one day I got frustrated with the connection issue and contacted Cavalier online and spoke with a technician. I'm not sure what they did, but I was getting about 6Mbps down, and having zero disconnection issues.
Now, from what I've learned by talking with their online technicians, they have an option to change the phone line signal to a decibel variable. Meaning, they have the following options:
6db, 9db, 12db, 15db
Now, keep in mind, the lower the db level, the faster my connection, but the less stable it becomes. The higher the db level, the slower the connection, but it becomes marginally more stable (still, with some infrequent disconnections).
Without resorting to paying nearly double for cable internet/phone, what can I do?
Bear in mind, they installed FiOS in my building recently, but it can't yet be turned on in my borough, due to contractual disagreements between Verizon and the borough.
Is it my old phone lines? The apartment building isn't THAT old. It was built in the 60's.
Side note: Verizon technician came over today, I spoke with him. He went to the building's huge phone box thing in the basement, and tested my line from there. Still says my DSL is 100% up and running. He told me that I have to contact Cavalier, because aside from that big box, they cant touch the phone lines. He also said that the phone lines are split into two connections, one for data and one for voice, and that I should tell the Cavalier technician to disconnect the ones for voice, on my phone jacks that I use for just the modem.
The part about Verizon not being able to service the lines makes no sense, because I know that Cavalier leases the phone lines and equipment from Verizon. Plus I asked the building manager and she told me that Verizon does indeed own the lines in the building.
So am I being given the run-around? I seriously am at wits end here.
Help.
PS
Please, if you're going to suggest getting a new ISP, refrain from answering. I'm looking for technical help. I fully realize that getting cable internet would solve the problem. I just don't make a lot of money, and what I pay now is cheap.

Should I purchase a wii
Im 14 years old. I like platformer, shooting , racing ,fighting and action games. I like the fact that wii has free online play and built in wifi. I'm not looking for the BEST online experience just something that won't lag a lot, is fun and can send messages to friends. I think from what I here wii has that basic stuff.
People say that the wii is only fun for a month or two but gets boring is that true? Are the games really kid-ish.
Should I buy another console then?
Yes I have a wireless internet connection. I was almost going to get a 360 but it doesn't have built in wifi ( it has it but for $100! more). So I wanted to see what the wii had to offer.
